Week 21

Game 1: Good Neighbours 8 vs. Perry Rose 6

Look out Good Neighbours is on a roll. Their last 2 wins gives them a little hope of finishing out of the basement. They’d have to beat Krown next week and need a few other things to fall their way. So there is a chance.

As usual, Brad led the way with 2 goals and 3 apples. Ashton Waters scored 2-2 from the back end and utility fielder, Tyler Quintos, had 2-1. Brock had 1-1, with Craigie, Tommie and JP-ie(?), all had 1 assist.

A win for Perry Rose would have put them in the drivers seat, but the loss has stuck them in the middle of a wild standings and who know where they end up. Sovy had a good game, getting 2 goals/2appies, Val had 2-1, Prender had 1-2 and Neilly had 1-0. Hammer and Jos had 2 helpers, Turbo, Currie, and Stinger had one.

Game 2: Kemp Financial Group 6 vs. Four Star 3

Kemp Financial Group has really bounced back in the last few weeks. winning 4 of 5 has sent them into second in the league. Meanwhile, Four Star continues to tread water in the mushy middle, not figuring out what they are.

Sean Malone was the big shooter for KFG, scoring twice while adding an assist. Littlejohn had 1-2, O’D had 1-1 and Gannage had a nice goal on a 2 on 1. Bobert Cranston had 2 apples, Euro Mulcahy had 1.

Surfy had the only roster goal for 4*. WiseyBear had 2 helpers, Zuccaro, Paiz and Steener had 1. Thanks for making it short and sweet boys.

Game 3: Chase Contracting 4 vs. VolpeAlcorn 4

What a kick in the nuts for Good Neighbours. A win for either team would have given them an easier opportunity to not finish last and have to face Krown in the playoffs. With the tie however, both CC and VA have an easier chance to finish 6th or 7th.

Dino got back in the scoring column, netting 1-2, with Diamond getting 1-1. Nikki and Jesse also had goals. Volpe, Kosmo, Culley and Mazzuca had assists.

Spenny Wyatt continued hos excellent season, notching another 2 goals, while Joner had 1-1 and Chase Gallacher had his first goal of the season. I don’t know how we didn’t throw him a parade. He has a career 239 goals in 222 games. And it took until the penultimate game of the year to get his first. Burlon’s 3 assists keeps him within striking distance of the scoring lead, but he’ll need a big game next week. Kenny Wright had 2 helpers, Haver had 1.

Game 4: Krown Rust 7 vs. Eve Mechanical 2

What can you say? The big freight train continues to steam roll over all opposition. Maybe trading them the top scorer and the best D-man was the smartest moves.

CD19 took a break from being the ultimate disher, to score a hat-trick, showing he really can do it all. Jimbo padded his scoring lead, pick up 5 points (2-3) and Kalpy taking the mantle from Carson, had 5 assists. Dasilva scored 1-1; Jamie Perry had 1-0. Jerky had an apple.

Kinger and 9 Fingers had the goals for EVE, with Iacono and Jarvie picking up assists.

League Rules:

1) Show up for the game. Pretty self-explanatory.

2) If you can’t make it, let your captain know.

3) Shower. Seriously. You are an adult. Don’t walk stinking.

4) Visit the cubby. As often as you can. You’ll be surprised how nice of guys we actually have in this league.

5) When it’s your turn, bring your share. It’s only fair.

6) Have a back up case. You’ll be a HERO.

Cubby Rules:

1) No girls

2) Make sure your team has drinks

3) Don’t drink another team’s last bevy

4) No girls

5) Keep it CLEAN. Every team should clean up their mess

6) No fighting

7) If you do need to bring a girl, make sure this is approved by cubby management.

Rememeber that the cubby starts immediately after the east coast game and will end once the last bevy is consumed. Your captain should have volunteered themselves to bring the first week. The weather looks fairly decent, but make sure to dress appropriately. Toques, mitts and boots don't make you a a wimp.

Shoutout of the Week:

The Shoutout of the Week goes to

Dick Duff's Organic Jerky Player of the Week:

The Player of the Week goes to Road Hockey Mike. No, he didn't skate this week. Yes, he does look like he fake and bakes daily. No, he doesn't even live in this country. But both were the boys happy to see him kciking around the rink. It's not every league that compels an alumni to come to the rink for 4 hours to watch his buddies play some puck.
